The Maple City Mayhem youth hockey program was formed as a single squirt team in 2014 to allow players to continue on after their winter programs concluded into the spring and summer months. In the fall of 2015, due to popular demand the program grew into four teams- Mites, 2- Squirts and a Peewee team. The program is built primarily of St. Albans Skating Association players, but is not inclusive to that organization, last year we had members from several Vermont organizations. We believe that by providing the players the opportunity to play together past the winter season it builds better town hockey teams in the winter and better skilled players in general. This was apparent in our first group of players as they posted 15-5-1 record, appearing in four championships and winning two in their second season together.
Our program promotes the development of young hockey players by providing on-ice and off-ice training and opportunities that allow each player to maximize his or her potential in a competitive learning environment, while providing positive lessons that allow them to excel in life. We emphasize hard work, teamwork, having fun and above all else sportsmanship and integrity.
As an organization we thoroughly encourage all our players to diversify and play other sports. We take special care to schedule all our practices and tournaments in the small time frame between winter hockey and spring sports with possible additional summer tournaments.
Our program based in St. Albans, Vermont and competes in tournaments throughout New England and Quebec. For more information please contact us today!
